About the launch
The Java User Group for Bosnia and Herzegovina, launching fall 2026.
JUG.ba is a community for developers who work with Java and want to grow beyond their day-to-day work. Expect regular meetups: technical talks, hands-on workshops, and time for coffee and networking afterwards.
Java is the core, but the conversations extend beyond it to software engineering practices, cloud platforms, AI, developer tooling, and JVM languages such as Kotlin and Scala. You do not need to be an experienced developer, or even a developer yet. Curiosity is the only prerequisite.
What to expect
Talks
Talks from industry experts who use Java daily, and guests from the wider ecosystem.
Hands-on workshops
Workshops and code-together sessions, in person and online. Bring a laptop, and leave with working code, and enough ideas to experiment and think about until the next session.
Community
Time to connect before and after every session. Meeting people solving similar problems is often just as valuable as the talks themselves.
